Couple of days back we covered perma temp root for HTC Sensation that sticks for a while, and now we learned that the same also applied on the HTC EVO 3D. As you all know that EVO 3D comes with locked bootloader that actually makes hacking the device to the core virtually impossible. Although there are promises from HTC to unlock the bootloaders of select devices which include EVO 3D, but the time frame to do the deed in unavailable and many users can’t wait to get rid of bloatware etc. Eugene373, recognized developer at XDA Forums, has managed to optimize the temp root and overclock efforts by TeamWin and Coolbhooo and released the final Perma –Temp Root for HTC EVO 3D. With this root, you will be able to retain SU binary and busybox but a reboot will reset all changes made. The root installs Busybox, SuperUser APK, SU Binary, Fre3vo exploit and fast reboot option.

According to several users and testers of this root, the hack pretty much does what it says. According to one such tester, there are no force closures while running Titanium Backup and the SU binary doesn’t disappear.

Here are the step by step instructions to Perma –Temp Root your EVO 3D with Eugene’s method:
- The first step is to download the Modified rooting package from here, extract and save the contents on your desktop for easy access.
- Once done, connect your phone to the computer. Select Charge Only mode and enable USB Debugging.
- Now double click on Run_ME_fre3vo_Root.bat file on your desktop and wait for the procedure to finish.
- After the process is complete, disconnect your phone and verify root by checking if Super User is present.
